Best Day of My Life
“Today is the best day of my life!” says our nine-year-old. So what kind of a day was it?
It involved going to a mid-day Seattle Mariners game at Safeco Field and watching them play the Los Angels Angels stacked with his favorite players: Mike Trout, Josh Hamilton and pitcher Jered Weaver. It included great seats in the outfield in hopes of catching a fly ball with the bonus of watching the players warm up from close range. It included free Mariner’s tee-shirts and free baseball cards doled out to kids by park attendants. It entailed eating the standard baseball menu of popcorn, hotdogs and hamburgers, which accordingly were “the best hamburgers ever”. And it ended with spending $20 of birthday money from his Grandmother on a Mariners pennant and a few other things. That is what constitutes “the best day of my life” for our boy. I’d agree.
